316 metal corrugated plate structured packing is a high-efficiency mass transfer element in the tower made of 316 stainless steel as the base material through precision machining. Its core structure consists of a metal sheet with holes on the surface and corrugated. The corrugation angle is usually 30°or 45°. The adjacent corrugated sheets are in opposite directions. The upper and lower layers of packing are staggered at 90°to form a regular geometric arrangement. Typical products such as 250Y, 350Y and other models have a height of 50-200mm per plate. When the diameter exceeds 1.5m, a block design is adopted to facilitate installation in the tower.
Corrugated Structure Performance advantages and technological innovation
High-efficiency mass transfer capacity
Specific surface area: up to 752m²/m³ (such as 752Yplus model), void ratio up to 97%, and liquid holdup accounts for only 8%-15% of the packing volume.
Fluid mechanics optimization: alternating combination of straight-edge corrugations and inclined corrugations enhances vapor-liquid disturbance, reduces mass transfer resistance, and the theoretical plate pressure drop is reduced by 30-50% compared with traditional packing.
Operational flexibility: Liquid load range 0.2-200m³/(m²·h), suitable for vacuum to high pressure working conditions, especially suitable for difficult-to-separate systems (such as aromatics extraction) and heat-sensitive materials (such as pharmaceutical intermediates).
Anti-blocking and corrosion resistance
Large free cross-section: uniform film flow, slight surface attachments do not affect efficiency, and anti-pollution performance is better than wire mesh filler.
Material advantages: 316 stainless steel contains 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum, with excellent Cl⁻corrosion resistance, suitable for complex media containing acid, alkali and salt.
Corrugated Structure Structural stability
High-pressure bearing: The corrugated structure has high compressive strength and can withstand high-speed fluid impact, suitable for high-pressure distillation (such as ethylene cracking gas separation).
Long-life design: High temperature resistance up to 800℃, life of more than 10 years, reducing the full cycle cost of equipment.
